Australian Shepherd / Mixed (long coat) : : Male : : Young
Cedar LOVES you!! Cedar LOVES everyone! He is an approximately 4-5 year old Australian Shepherd, and he is looking for a home that can love him as much as he loves them. Part of loving Cedar will mean being sure he gets regular exercise, he has boundless energy and is happiest when he can run and run and run. He would love regular walks and hikes. He can play fetch but it isn’t his favorite. Cedar gets along with everyone as far as we have seen, he coexists well with a cantankerous cattle dog and a cat, he plays well with puppies and other dogs and loves people. Cedar is a beautiful dog, but he is by no means perfect….. he has a shrill bark when he gets excited. We have not left him home alone, he always has another dog with him. He will eat any food that he can while you are gone. This means that the trash needs to be kept safe from him, and that food on the counters will be eaten if you are not careful. If you are interested in adopting Cedar, we will give more details about the list of foods he has eaten. It is impressive. Because he always did fine being left out with our other dog and we have limited space in our home we have not ever seen how he does in a kennel while we are away. When he has sufficient regular exercise, home life with Cedar is pretty easy. He will happily follow you around the house, from room to room as you are doing chores. He just sleeps when he is at home, he is very mellow. He likes to sleep under the bed at night. The only time his high energy can be overwhelming is when something exciting is happening, like company coming over, going for a car ride, or going for a walk. Cedar is house trained, has a reasonably reliable recall, and knows how to sit and lay down. He will love you so much he may be willing to learn more, if it will make you happy!
Please note:
All dogs are expected to attend our next adoption event, however sometimes life gets in the way. We encourage you to attend our next event to inquire about meeting or adopting any dog listed on our site or email us to request a meeting outside of an event.
