About Krispy

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: White
  • Current Age: 1 Year 3 Months (best estimate)

This little pup plays hard, and sleeps even harder.  He really enjoys outdoor playtime with our 2 year old Aussie/lab mix.  As you can see from the photos, he is a fan of the ‘creature comforts’ and LOVES a good fire in the fireplace.

When it comes to grooming tasks, he is quite even-tempered.  He allowed us to bathe him on his first night here.  Certainly not his favorite activity right off the bat, but he was a trouper about it and stood calmly while we shampooed and rinsed a few times to get him good and clean.  His world travels had left him a little stinky, but he’s fresh as can be now.  He sits calmly and will present his paws for nail trims, which we have done twice in his time with us.

With appropriate support, he has done well with his house-training.  At night he will yip if he needs to go out - he has not had any accidents at night.  During the day, he does well if given potty breaks every few hours.  I work from home, so he is not currently going longer than a few hours in his kennel when we have to run errands.

For kennel training, he is a little ‘hot & cold’.  When he’s kenneled in the car during a ride, he does GREAT! Not a peep out of him.  We are working on him being more comfortable with then kennel in the house, either when we are home, or when we leave.  With continued training and support, he is getting the hang of this, too.

While he is still getting settled and accustomed to new people and situations, he seems to be adapting well.  He gets along very well with our 2 yr old and 10 yr old dogs.  He met three very young children (infant, 2, and 3 year old) and did a good job interacting with them over several hours today.  (He does need children to be respectful of him, and pick up cues for whether he wants to be pet or left alone.)

If you are looking for a great companion who is beyond the most challenging puppy stages, but still has the fun and engaging goofiness of a young dog, this guy might be for you.

Please note: All dogs are expected to attend our next adoption event, however sometimes life gets in the way. We encourage you to attend our next event to inquire about meeting or adopting any dog listed on our site or email us to request a meeting outside of an event.
