About Dakota

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Fawn
  • Housetrained: Yes
Dakota is a fantastic 5yr old purebred mastiff. She is on the smaller side for a mastiff and only weighs about 125-135lbs. Still a big girl:) Dakota is a people dog and really would do best in a home that wanted a dog with them a lot. She would also do best in a home without other dogs as she can be choosey with the other dogs. She is a big girl and needs an owner that understands her size and the breed. Someone firm yet fair and that is a natural pack leader. Dakota is a smart dog and sometimes you have to let her know you are actually the one in charge, not the other way around :) She can become overly protective of her home and owners if the owners are not diligent in their role as pack leader. Dakota is fully trained in basic obedience, she is housebroken and crate trained. Due to size we are requiring home ownership and permanent Alaska residents with a fenced yard. We prefer homes without young children. If you are interested in adopting Dakota please email us at rescueadogtoday@gmail.com and request an application.

Please note: All dogs are expected to attend our next adoption event, however sometimes life gets in the way. We encourage you to attend our next event to inquire about meeting or adopting any dog listed on our site or email us to request a meeting outside of an event.
